Reaching Hungary via Budapest
From most European countries, the easiest way of reaching Hungary is by plane, since flying is fast, comfortable and once you have checked in it is virtually impossible to get lost. There are flights from all over the world to Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
It is also possible to travel to Hungary by international train services - this option is favoured by traveller coming from neighbouring countries.
From Budapest to Pécs
Airport Shuttle
After landing in Hungary you'll find an Airport Minibus office at the terminal. We advise you to take an Airport Minibus shuttle which ride to Pécs directly. This is the most convenient way of travelling from the airport. It costs approx. HUF 15,000 (≈ EUR 42) for one-way and HUF 25,000 (≈ EUR 70) for a return fare. Please note, that you should arrange the shuttle for yourself. There are two main companies which offer airport shuttle from Budapest to Pécs:
Foreigners driving a car to Hungary are required to hold a valid international driving licence. Car registration and insurance papers are also compulsory. Most of the hotels in Pécs have a safe car park. Driving is on the right-hand side and the seatbelt is compulsory. The speed limit within residential areas is 50 km/h, 90 km/h for secondary roads, 110 km/h for highways and 130 km/h for motorways.
Do I need a visa?
You can apply for the Hungarian Schengen Visa since 2007 when Hungary as a Member State of the European Union, also became a member state of the Schengen Area.

If you need a visa to enter Hungary, the LOC strongly advises you requiring a visa and/or other travel documentation to enter Hungary to make their application in their home countries at least two months before the intended date of travel.
