Understanding the excesses of tourism, and regarding Lyon, what good practices could make things better
Lyon has just be nominated Capital of smart tourism for 2019, and sustainable development is one of the city's main priority. Meeting point: Place Bellecour, in front of the Tourist Office.
Friday, August 30, from 14:00-16:00

Born in Lyon, geologist and mediator, walker, engaged in community gardening. Patrick Mathon created Lyon City Trek in April 2015. The relationship to nature is an asset in Lyon: the confluence of its two rivers, the reliefs of its hills offering landscape views and horizons that go towards the Alps and Mont Blanc, or even closer and less known, the Monts d'Or. Lyon reveals itself as a city in which it is good to walk, day and night. Its size allows for large, traversing walks, and corresponds to the format of the trek on 2-3 hours or the day. By transposing the mode of the Trek into town, it is the pleasure of walking, nature in the City, green infrastucture, spaces more than buildings or monuments, pedestrian bridgess, panoramas and landscape reading that constitute the heart of the city treks.
