The Castle of Santa Bárbara

The Castle of Santa Bárbara is perched on top of M­ount Benacantil at a height of 166 metres, and stands one of Spain’s largest mediaeval fortresses, providing great views of Alicante’s perfect bay. source of the picture

Alicante has a large number of beaches which constitutes a major tourist attraction. Year after year these beaches are awarded the Blue Flag recognition by the European Union, giving them the international prestige they deserve; the best beaches of the Mediterranean coast are: San Juan beach, Cabo de la Huerta creeks, Almadraba beach, La Albufereta beach, Postiguet beach, Saladares-Urbanova beach, Tabarca island.

Explanada de España

La Explanada de España is one of the city’s emblems. It runs parallel to one of the port wharfs and is lined on both sides with rows of palm trees. The floor is decorated with 6.600.000 tricolour marble tiles forming a design with a characteristic wave effect mosaic. During the summer season it houses the Alicante Craft Fair where you can buy typical products (sweets and nougat),leather crafts, glass,etc. source of the picture: Nurul Bariroh

Cabo de la Huerta

The cape “Cabo de la Huerta” is located between San Juan beach and Albufereta. This stretch of the coast allows you to enjoy a sea experience away from the more popular beaches. The uniqueness of this place has turned it into a naturist cove area. The coves of Cabo de la Huerta are ideal to enjoy the sea with the greatest tranquility. MARQ museum

Created in 1932, MARQ museum was originally located on the ground floor of the Provincial Council building on Avenida de la Estación avenue in Alicante. In 2002 it was transferred to the former site of the San Juan de Dios provincial hospital. Its exhibits stretch from the Palaeolithic through to Contemporary Modern Culture, tracing the history of Alicante. source of the picture
