Julian Kirchherr is a researcher at the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development at Utrecht University and Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company. He holds a PhD from the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in academic journals such as Global Environmental Change, Ecological Economics, World Development and Energy Policy and his work on energy transitions has also been featured in media outlets such as BBC, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.
