The European Regional Science Association is pleased to announce in collaboration with RSAI, ERSA Polish Section and Faculty Economics at the University of Economics in Katowice for the organisation of the 32nd ERSA Summer School.

In pursuit of prevailing research concepts: geography of innovation, economic resilience, smartness,
specialisation … What else?

The summer school will be held from 16 - 22 June, 2019 
at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland

  • Saturday, 22 June 2019 – Lectures, student presentations and certificate ceremony, Farewell lunch (1 PM)

Application - Terms and Conditions

ERSA will select participants aiming for a student body of high academic quality as well as a balanced representation of background. The maximum number of participants accepted is 30. 

The organizers will follow previous ERSA Summer School policy for large geographical of student's participants.

Who should apply?

The ERSA Summer Schools targets PhD students and junior researchers with less than 10 years of research experience. The Summer School intends to bring together Regional Science academics from across Europe and the World.

How to apply

Step 1

Applicants are requested to apply via the Summer School Application Portal.
Applications must be submitted within March 8, 2019  March 15, 2019 and include:

  • A one-page summary of the research project students’ aim at presenting during the Summer School (pdf format) 
  • A one-page CV of the applicant (pdf format)
  • A Half-page Statement of intent (pdf format)

Step 2
First fill in your contact details to create your account on the Summer School Platform and follow the instructions to submit your application. You can save your application as a draft before submitting it.

Step 3
After notification of acceptance and receipt of registration payments, the participants will be asked to upload an updated version of their intended presentation during the summer school.

The 32nd Summer School of ERSA is a joint initiative of Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics in Katowice and the Polish Section of ERSA.

Registration

After notification of acceptance, the accepted applicants must register and pay the participation fee to ERSA.

Participants must cover their own travel expenses from their home countries to the Summer School and going home.

Participation fee: €250

The fee includes:

  • Accommodation for six nights in hotel. All applicants will be accommodated in single rooms. Any extended stay should be done by participant. The hotels are booked starting from June 16 (check-in as per 2 PM) until June 22 (check-out until 12 PM).
  • Reception, lunch and coffee break throughout   the summer school;
  • Technical excursion.
